CS Alumni Baithak 2.0 , Celebrating Connections, Journeys, and Impact

February 11, 2026: The School of Mathematics and Computer Science (SMCS), IBA Karachi, hosted CS Alumni Baithak 2.0, bringing together alumni, faculty, and leadership for an evening of reflection, mentorship, and meaningful engagement.

The session opened with remarks from Dr. S. Akbar Zaidi, Executive Director, IBA Karachi, who appreciated the growing impact and national recognition of the BSCS program and highlighted IBA’s commitment to academic excellence and industry relevance. He emphasized the importance of maintaining strong alumni–student connections, noting that alumni engagement plays a vital role in shaping student aspirations and career pathways. Dean Dr. Shakeel Khoja welcomed the alumni and thanked them for returning to their alma mater and contributing to student development.

A few prominent alumni shared their professional journeys and insights. Bilal Javeri (BSCS Class of 2010), CIO at Lucky Motor Corporation, reflected on his long association with IBA and appreciated the strong recognition and acceptance of the program. Saif Imran (BSCS Class of 2017), AI Engineer at Bauer Media Group and President of the IBA Alumni Germany Chapter, shared international exposure and offered guidance to students interested in higher studies and careers in Germany, noting he was visiting Karachi for the week. Danish Ahmed (BSCS Class of 2015), Senior Vice President at Raqami Islamic Digital Bank in the Data Engineering and Analytics Division, emphasized the importance of networking and continuous learning. Safeer E. Hussain (BSCS Class of 2014), co-founder of Digital Eggheads and Member of the SMCS Alumni Advisory Board, spoke about how IBA groomed his personality and gave him the confidence to start his own venture.

The evening reflected the true spirit of the SMCS community: insightful conversations, mentorship, and relationships that extend beyond classrooms into professional life. We sincerely thank our alumni for making the event memorable and for inspiring the next generation. The school looks forward to continued collaborations, mentorship opportunities, and lifelong connections that strengthen the bridge between academia and industry.
