IBA Karachi & GDG Kolachi collaborates to host Google IO Extended 2023

September 16, 2023: IBA Karachi in collaboration with GDG Kolachi hosted Google IO Extended 2023 at the IBA City Campus. The event inspired IBA students & local developers to learn and connect as a community by exploring how to use Google technology to accelerate economic impact. Over 800+ participants attended the event from different HEIs and industries.

Dr. Shahid Hussain, Chairperson, Dept. of Computer Science, SMCS delivered the opening remarks where he welcomed all the participants on behalf of IBA.

Various speakers from the tech industry delivered the keynote session, some of the top names are, Ms. Jahan Ara (CEO Katalyst Labs), Mr. Raza Matin (Co-Founder & CEO at Chikoo), Mr. Omar Abedin (Head of VC Investments, TMT Venture Ltd) & Jawwad Farid (Prof. of Practice, SMCS IBA).

Google I/O Extended featured workshops as well on ‘Flutter's Future with Stacked’, ‘Democratic System Design’, ‘Vertex AI by AI Engineer’ & ‘Deploy your app serverless using Cloud Run’ for IBA students and other participants. The workshop received a good number of participants as well.
