Flutter Conference Held at IBA City Campus with Keynotes on AI, Tech, and Leadership

January 18, 2025: The Flutter Karachi community hosted a successful conference at IBA Karachi’s City Campus, with IBA serving as the venue partner. The event began with a keynote address by Mr. Waleed Arshad, the Community Lead and Visiting Faculty at IBA Karachi. He shared insights into how Flutter Karachi manages its operations both internally and externally with transparency. Mr. Arshad also demonstrated the Flutter Xchange organizer portal, which played a key role in managing the event. Additionally, he led a session on the ‘Philosophy of Neural Networks’, where he explained the concept of AI in simple, non-technical terms.

Co-founder, Flutter Karachi, Mr. Abdullah Bin Yousuf, delivered a keynote. He shared insights about the meaning of human existence, the challenge of AI replacing jobs, and potential vs ability, followed by speaker sessions from CEO Reactree, Sakina Abbas, Principal Consultant, Systems Limited, Abdul M, Technical Lead, AeroGlobe, Taha Ali, and Associate Engineer, FPCL, Ashique Ali who shared insightful technical details about diverse topics in Flutter.

Assistant Professor, IBA-SMCS, Dr. Imran Khan, commended the Flutter Karachi team for organising such informative events and shared his insights about academic leadership.

The event highlight was a surprise coding competition by Mr. Rao Muhammad Noman, Visiting Faculty, IBA-SMCS. Five people, who were great flutter developers, were randomly selected from the audience, and laptops were provided to them to code a UI in under 15 minutes. The winner received a special Flutter Karachi shield with a cash prize of PKR 10,000.

The event featured a panel discussion led by Mr. Waleed Arshad. Panelists included Mr. Rao Muhammad Noman; Founder, RemoteKaro, Mr. Wajahat Karim; Dr. Imran Khan; CEO, Unikrew Solutions, Muhammad Naveed Sharif; and Founder & CTO, Codefied, Rohail Naveed, who shared insights about leading in different domains followed by questions and discussions about remote jobs, the reason of the downfall of the job market, the problems new startups face and risk assessments in large scale companies.

The event ended with a talk session from Flutter Software Engineer, Ruqaiya Sattar, Lead Flutter Engineer, Musaddiq Ahmed Khan, and Flutter Developer, Techease, Mudasir Hussain.
